Kat(arina) is lovely black and tan, 3.5-month-old German Shepherd (Mix?), with the characteristic GSD puppy features – large floppy ears that are trying to stay up, and puppy legs that sometimes trip over one another! Kat’s genuinely joyful attitude and uninhibited take on life combined with these features makes her absolutely irresistible to all who meet her.

Her foster family adores her attitude and her frolicking playfulness.  She is currently being fostered in a home with another adult German Shepherd, ducks, cats, and young children – and she is great with everyone.  Currently not reactive to ducks or cats, and always wants to play with the older shepherd and the kids.  Never one to miss a chance at belly rubs, she will bound up to you, then flop at your feet expectantly and you won’t be able to resist that soft puppy belly, or her angelic expression.

According to her foster parents, this amazing girl will make the absolute best companion or family pet for a very lucky adopter as long as they are willing to put in the work.  As all puppies do, she will require lots of obedience training, socialization, and appropriate “work” for her to do.  She loves to play tug, and chew on anything she can find, so she will need many appropriate chew toys, as well as enrichment toys to keep her brain busy.

She is currently hard at work learning the basic commands, learning recall and getting used to both her prong collar and being on a leash.  She also enjoys what her foster family calls “pack time” – after expending enough energy playing, running, chewing and working, she is happy to lounge on a dog bed or at your feet while you watch a movie, or even work.??Due to Kat’s energy level, we recommend a home with a full fenced yard, and we are looking for adopters who agree to continued obedience training and socialization.  Kat will do best in a home as an only dog, or with another dog who is older and fully confident.
