# Washington German Shepherd Rescue > All-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescuing surrendered, abandoned, and neglected German Shepherds across Washington state and the Pacific Northwest since 2003. We place every dog through foster homes (never kennels), match adopters carefully rather than first-come-first-served, and rely on donations and in-kind giving to operate. Contact: contact@washingtongsd.org. ## Adopt & meet the dogs - [Available dogs](https://washingtongsd.org/dogs/): German Shepherds currently in our care, with a profile page per dog at /dogs// (photos, temperament, good-with details, adoption fee). Rebuilt from our Animals First CRM data on every deploy; the same dataset is served as JSON at https://washingtongsd.org/data/dogs.json. - [Adopt](https://washingtongsd.org/adopt/): How adoption works — application, our review process, requirements, fees, and FAQs. We adopt dogs to the Pacific Northwest and beyond. ## Ways to help - [Foster](https://washingtongsd.org/foster/): Become a foster home. We cover 100% of costs (vet care, food, supplies, training); you provide time and a couch. Prior experience with a German Shepherd, working-line, bully, or herding breed is required. Fostering is our single biggest need. - [Volunteer](https://washingtongsd.org/volunteer/): Help without fostering — transport, events/tabling, admin, and fundraising. - [Donate](https://washingtongsd.org/donate/): Recurring and one-time gifts, employer matching. - [Donate food & supplies](https://washingtongsd.org/donate/food/): Ship items via our Amazon and Chewy wishlists, or coordinate a local drop-off. ## About & contact - [About](https://washingtongsd.org/about/): Who we are, what we believe, and how we operate. - [Contact](https://washingtongsd.org/contact/): Reach the all-volunteer team. Email: contact@washingtongsd.org - [Newsletter](https://washingtongsd.org/newsletter/): Monthly updates and rescue stories. - [Thank you, Holly & Mike](https://washingtongsd.org/thank-you/): A dedicated thank-you to Holly and Mike Anderson, whose support has carried the rescue for more than 20 years.
